English
From the day children start at St Peter's, they are immersed in rich, quality texts. Learning to read and write is a priority and a comprehensive DfE-Validated phonics scheme (Little Wandle) and an evidence-based writing progression ensures that children's English skills develop fully and rapidly.
As children move through the school, they are introduced to longer and more complex texts, interrogating and analysing these for meaning and learning to write for a range of audiences and purposes.
By the time children leave the school, they are achieving outcomes above the national standard.
